The protection and conservation of fresh water is as important an issue as any on the planet. Water gives life.
In the Finger Lakes, we are blessed with so much clean potable water that we don’t give it a second thought. Our Museum is dedicated to interpreting global fresh water issues as a means of imparting a sense of appreciation to those of us lucky enough to live in the Finger Lakes. The museum will accomplish this through:
- Exhibits on the water cycle, associated risks, on water foot-printing, and on global fresh water issues;
- Partnerships with fresh water research and humanitarian organizations to ensure coordinated efforts around the world;
- Fundraising to support water projects, including a United States pilot program and a global pilot program;
- Sponsorship of “Think Tanks” and Chautauqua’s on fresh water issues.
